Research data are the basics and outcome of scientific work. An aware and sustained handling of research data improves the effectivity of research and is an integral part of good scientific practice.

Based on the life cycle of research data, the course provides a brief introduction to the concepts of research data management (RDM) and an overview of the services and infrastructure offered by RWTH Aachen University which have been designed to assist you in dealing with the challenges around your RDM. Afterwards you will have a greater understanding of these challenges and get an idea on how to properly tackle them.

The content of this online course correspond to the face-to-face seminar "Research Data Management - an Overview" and is required for the „Workshop zum Management von Forschungsdaten (FDM II-kompakt)“ as well as in the FDM II-modular sessions.

After registration you will receive the link to the learning room (in RWTHmoodle). For the login, you will need your RWTH username and password. You could start the course at any time in 2022. You will need about 120 minutes for completion.
