Description

Contemporary research involves conscious research data management (RDM) with the aim of generating high-quality research data and keeping it sustainably (re)usable, i.e. findable, accessible and understandable (FAIR-criteria). The RDM platform Coscine—Collaborative Scientific Integration Environment—supports you in this and helps you meet the requirements of research funders and comply with Good Research Practice.

This event is part of a series of in-depth modules on RDM (FDM II - modular). The basics on RDM are covered by the Moodle course "Research Data Management - an Overview (RDM I - online)". Please use this course as introduction to RDM.

Objective

At the end of this workshop, you will have a good understanding of what the RDM platform Coscine can be used for and are able to work with the platform according to Good Research Practice

Methods

Live demo and practice

  • Adding other researchers to projects

  • Create data storage units (resources) and allocate storage space to them

  • Archiving research data according to Good Scientific Practice.

For more detailed options regarding Coscine concerning metadata schemata and automatic procedures, the workshops “Metadata Basics and Creating Application Profiles for Coscine (RDM II– modular)” and “Automating (Meta)Data Transfer to Coscine (FDM II – modular)” are recommended.
