General Course Information
Registering as a Group
All courses offered by the University Library can also be booked as a seminar or tutorial or for a group of employees from a particular institute.
We are also able to organize introductory courses outside of our regular course program, and we make every effort to offer courses which fit into your schedule. The duration and content of our courses can be tailored to your specific needs.
The room we use for training purposes can seat a maximum of 20 course participants and is equipped with PCs and flat screen monitors. Courses can also be held at your institute upon request.
Registration for our Courses
RWTH students and staff are given priority in the registration process for our courses. If course places are still available, non-university members may also attend.
Registration usually takes place online via the respective course description page; however, it is also possible to register for a course via email or telephone. If you register online, an initial confirmation of registration document will be generated and sent to you immediately after registration. Please note that no other form of confirmation will be sent after that. If you are unable to attend a course that you have already registered for, please inform us as soon as possible.
Participation on our courses is free of charge.
Course Room and Facilities
The room used for training purposes is located on the third floor of the Main Library building. Training takes place in room 313, which can seat up to 20 participants. The room is fully air conditioned and equipped with modern presentation technology, including PCs and flat screen monitors.
Participants are also more than welcome to bring their own laptops. Please ensure that you are able to access the WLAN / Eduroam network if you decide to do so. For some courses, you will also need to install specialist software before the course starts, e.g. reference management software.
Credits and Proof of Attendance
At present, only students of chemistry and biology can be awarded ECTS credits for participation on our courses. The courses we offer primarily count towards particular seminars or tutorials for which ECTS credits are not awarded.
All course participants will obtain a certificate of attendance from the University Library upon successful completion of the course.
