Search for authors and the related author profiles

In addition to this brief description there is an E-Tutorial: Scopus - Suche nach Autorinnen und Autoren und deren Profile

Contents of the brief description

The following brief description explains how to run a search for authors, for example the noble prize winner Thomas Christian Südhof, and shows which information the related author profile contains.

Search by author name

First, select the search for authors and enter the last name. Instead of the whole first name, it is also possible to write only the initial. Therefore, we can also write a "T" in the example instead of "Thomas". This can be really helpful in case that different versions of an authors first name exist. But, in contrast, common names can lead to a huge amount of results. Adding an affiliation – if known – can be useful in these cases.

Scopus automatically creates an authors profile as soon as a new publication with an unknown author is indexed. An algorithm identifies the required meta data from the document. The created profiles can be incomplete, but you can request a correction or addition to these automatically created profiles at any time by using "Edit profile".
